Mt Owen, Kahurangi National Park, NZ.

Jon Terry about to descend the entrance pitch of Owen Chasm. Seem to remember two or three pitches down 80 or so metres to the bottom of the main chasm. Looked pretty awesome looking back up with the sun shining down the shaft, illuminating all the water that was falling down. Have never yet got a photo that captures that sort of sight well, although it's quite common - maybe a waterproof camera would help. Looks like I'm standing astride the chasm when taking this shot, - but I don't think Jon would have been smiling if I had been.
